Pay Homage Makhá Cuff

60.00

I strive for simplicity and durability in my designs, but also to pay tribute to cultures of craft and history.  For the Makhá cuff, many elements come together to create a diverse but grounded design. This cuff draws inspiration from the style motifs often painted on the bottom skirt of the tipi. Much of the symbolism usually attached to the bottom skirt motif represents earth, and mother. The mountains, the sun, the ground, the water…it’s all attached and the root of all things. Makhá is the Lakota word for earth, a solid foundation to always to keep at the center of a home.

Incredibly beautiful 5/6oz vegetable tanned Italian Leather, custom solid brass donut-button post hardware, and each individually stitched with powder blue thread, hand detailed and meticulously finished.

 Width: approx 3/8"

The last two photos shows the patina this cuff achieves over time, the first after just a little sun exposure, and the last photo an 8 month old Makhá Cuff, after a Summer spent by rivers. (half way to it’s full transformation)

***Please select the closest measurement to your EXACT wrist size from the drop down menu, and I will add the appropriate amount to make for a comfortable but not sloppy fit.
